Artisan Edibles condiments and preserves artfully blend the best flavours of Vancouver Island and the world. Our seasonal jellies are created from the abundant fruits and flowers growing wild in the region and use only natural ingredients and naturally occurring preservatives. It's a return to the tradition of making preserves, a method of capturing fruit at its peak ripeness and flavour to be enjoyed throughout the year.

Apple Fig Ginger Chutney

Serving suggestions:

  • An excellent condiment with chicken, pork,  and lamb
  • An accent for pasta with cream sauce
  • Pairs to perfection with goat cheese or aged cheddar
  • A tasty side with Indian dishes
  • A delicious spread with a sandwich or grilled panini 

Ingredients:
Apples, figs, cider vinegar, brown sugar, raisins, fresh and candied ginger, salt and ground red chili peppers. 

Raspberry Cardamom Jelly

Serving suggestions:

  • Serve with fresh baked scones and Crème Fraiche
  • Tantalizing when paired with Brillat Savarin Cheese or fromage frais on a cracker
  • Glaze roasted stone fruits and serve with yogurt or ice cream
  • Makes an elegant filling for a jelly (Swiss) roll cake
  • Use as a topping on cheesecake
  • A tasty condiment with pork loin, Cornish game hen and duck

RASPBERRY CARDAMOM JELLY

  • We created Raspberry Cardamom for the modern day gourmet who craves fine food and demands convenience.

POMEGRANATE HOT PEPPER JELLY

  • Artisan Edibles uses only organic pomegranate juice providing a pure fruit source to maximize its antioxidant benefits.
  • A party favorite, Pomegranate Hot Pepper Jelly has a captivating flavor that can only be understood by tasting it yourself!
  • The colour is as intense as the flavour of this sparkling red jelly.

  • Our blend of wild blackberries, blueberries and fresh crabapple juice depicts the taste of a warm summer afternoon.
  • Kumquats from artisan farms in California share in the recipe contributing to its rich, refreshing flavour.
  • The idea for Summer Berry Ambrosia hails from the South of France.
  • Filled with wild berries and juices it is delicious served with cheese cake, Panna Cotta, warmed croissants, tea breads, ice cream, yogurt and crepes.
  • Add a touch of port, and you have a tantalizing finishing sauce.
  • As well…Ambrosia adds a kick to your morning protein shakes!.

ANTIPASTO

  • Our boldly flavoured antipasto is rich in texture with a hint of the Mediterranean.
  • Custom chopped fresh vegetables, Italian vinegars, oils, sundried tomatoes, grilled roasted peppers, artichokes, and naturally organic albacore tuna combine to create a taste experience enticing to the most discerning palate.

APPLE FIG GINGER CHUTNEY

  • This scrumptious preserve is a combination of a 1848 Mormon recipe modernized by the addition of fresh figs and ginger.
  • Apple Fig Ginger Chutneys bursts with the unique fresh fruit flavours of apple, figs fresh and candied ginger plus secret spices!
  • It is delicious paired with your favourite goat cheese or Farm House Cheddar.
  • Use it as the cheese topping in a Brie en Croute.
  • Serve with pork, chicken or Indian Curry dishes.

RHUBARB & SOUR CHERRY CHUTNEY

  • Inspired by Vancouver Island's early harvest season…
  • Local Montmorency cherries and Vancouver Island rhubarb are a complimentary balance of tart and sweet in Artisan Edibles Rhubarb & Sour Cherry Chutney.
  • Toasted walnuts, fresh ginger and cinnamon add body to this scrumptious chutney.
  • Rhubarb and Sour Cherry Chutney is delightful served with an aged cheddar and a loaf of crusty bread.
  • Mouth-watering baked in phyllo purses with goat cheese.

MEYER LEMON CHUTNEY

  • Meyer Lemons, a hybrid between a mandarin orange and lemon, are imported from artisan orchards in California.
  • These fragrant lemons are combined with dried and fresh mixed fruits, pine nuts, chopped onions, mustard seed and anisette.
  • Superb accompaniment to salmon, halibut, crab cakes, cold roasted meats, poultry, lamb, or a favourite curry dish.
  • Meyer Lemon Chutney is also delectable served as an appetizer with Brie, Camembert or soft goat cheese.
  • Some love it straight from the jar!

QUINCE MOSTARDA

  • Artisan Edibles is pleased to be the first to provide this classic Italian preserve prepared from local British Columbia quinces.
  • The recipe was inspired by travels to Italy where quince is celebrated every autumn.
  • Combined with candied lemon peel, organic lemon juice and mustard, it is smooth and slightly sweet, capturing the delicate quince aroma and expressive flavour.
  • Quince Mostarda complements cold meat, cheese, grilled sausages, a grilled cheese sandwich and roast turkey.
  • Serves as a glaze on ham or pork tenderloin.

ROSE PETAL SCONE MIX

  • Our Rose Petal Scone Mix was created in response to customer demand.  
  • Freshly baked rose petal scones served with Artisan Edibles Champagne Rose Petal Jelly and Crème Fraiche have been a popular feature at Artisan Edibles in-store demos and food events.
  • Making the scones is as easy as blending whipped cream with our mix, cutting the scone dough into heart shapes and baking them for 20 minutes.
  • Serving the scones warm from the oven with a generous dollop of Crème Fraiche and Artisan Edibles Champagne Rose Petal Jelly will bring rave reviews.
